In the event of coming across a black screen when connecting to a docking station or direct connection to the computer, possible solutions can be attempted below.
Solution 1: Check power. Make sure all monitors in use are showing a visible power light. Some monitors have physical power switches.
Solution 2: Check the power to the wall or surge protector the monitor is connected to. A switch may have been turned off. Power cycle the surge protector while checking.
Solution 3: Make sure the source input is in the correct channel. HDMI for HDMI, VGA for VGA, etc. An AUTO hard button may exist on the monitor to auto-detect the correct channel.
Solution 4: Disconnect display cable from the docking station and reconnect the device. If multiple monitors are present, disconnect until only one is left and confirm if a single monitor works.
Solution 5: Disconnect docking station cable from computer and reconnect. Also try removing power to the docking station while disconnected from the computer.
If none of the solutions yield results, send in a ticket to helpdesk@cliffordpower.com for further assistance.
