Reset Password
Reset password in AD / Microsoft 365
Ensure account is unlocked
Have user sign in and update password
If Login Fails (Check First)
Confirm user is connected to the domain:
Hardwired into company network OR
Connected to Azure VPN
If not connected, password will not sync
Quick Checks
Wait 2–5 minutes (sync delay)
Confirm internet connection
Restart device
If Still Failing
Sync / Policy
Run:
gpupdate /force
Confirm AD sync is working
Known Fix (Use Early if Needed)
Sign in as another user
Connect to Azure VPN
Select “Other User” at login
Sign in with updated credentials
Password Policy
Minimum: 14 characters
Cannot reuse last 3 passwords
Lockout: 13 attempts → 10 minutes
Cannot include first/last name
